Downtown Lexington KY Parking Garages
October 2024
Lexington received damaging rain and wind as part of Hurricane Helene on September 27, 2024. Due to the damaging winds of the storm, their Courthouse Garage suffered damages to a small portion of its façade. Thankfully nobody was hurt, and LEXPARK immediately jumped into action – closing the garage and arranging for the Sheriff’s office to be on-scene to keep people safe.
The Victorian Square Garage (350 West Vine) and Courthouse House Garage (105 Barr Street) both were damaged and were closed temporarily. Victorian Square was without electricity and elevator service. Courthouse Garage has minor structural damage yet enough to necessitate closing.
Lexpark took the recent storm damages to the Courthouse Garage seriously, and hired Diversified Demolition to make needed restoration and repairs after Hurricane Helene’s powerful winds. After implementing our crews to assess the façade and determining the extent of the damage, Lexpark worked with structural professionals at Diversified Demolition to assure the property is repaired before they reopened.
The sidewalk had to be blocked off to ensure safety of our public, and our team worked as fast as possible to restore regular access to the garage that so many depend on.
